I want to add my name to the long list of endorsements to re-elect the Claverack Republican Team on November 7th.
This team, comprised of Supervisor Kippy Weigelt, Town Clerk Mary Jeanne Hoose, Town Councilmen Stephen Hook and Brian Keeler, and Town Highway Superintendent Lou LaMont is working hard for Claverack and getting results.
Their record of accomplishments includes the first tax cut for Claverack residents in many years. This didn’t happen overnight. This team began cutting costs, consolidating operations, and sharing services – on day one, four years ago; laying the ground work to be able to finally turn the trend of tax increases downward.
When tough decisions needed to be made, and action was required, this team delivered. They were able to bring the cost of government down, while maintaining services. This is much easier said than done. As a former Philmont Village Trustee, Deputy Mayor, Claverack Town Councilman, and Deputy Town Supervisor, I understand full well how hard these decisions can be, and the work it takes to get things done for the residents.
I grew up in Philmont and have lived in Claverack all of my life. I raised my family here with my wife Tami, and we own one of the town’s largest businesses. We care very deeply about this town and we’ve worried at times about the town’s future. But with Weigelt, Hook, Keeler, Hoose, and Lamont working on our behalf, guiding the ship, and making the hard decisions, I’m very confident that we are in good hands and Claverack’s future is bright!
Please join me in voting to re-elect Supervisor Kippy Weigelt, Town Clerk Mary Jeanne Hoose, Town Councilmen Stephen Hook and Brian Keeler, and Town Highway Superintendent Lou LaMont! Also remember to support Sheriff David Bartlett, Coroner candidate Roy Brown, and Supreme Court Justice candidate Judge Peter Crummey.
