As a lifelong resident of Philmont, I have always tried to judge the qualifications, character and experience of those running for town or village offices — not necessarily their political affiliation. It’s important to me that our town and village officials be well versed in local government; that they understand the challenges we face and have the experience to surmount these challenges. It is critically important that they are tested and skilled leaders, prepared to lead and represent all residents of our town — not a special interest, lifestyle or particular way of thinking. That all said, it is very clear to me that we, as a village and town, must vote to re-elect Town Supervisor Clifford “Kippy” Weigelt, Town Councilmen Brian Keeler and Stephen Hook, Town Clerk Mary Jeanne Hoose and Town Highway Superintendent Louis LaMont.
This team of highly skilled, highly qualified and highly experienced leaders have represented us — all of us — very well the past four years. They are the most deserving of re-election and I hope that you will join me in supporting them on Election Day, November 7. Kenneth Heath Philmont
