As a 25+ year resident of the Town of Claverack, I've seen our town go through some highs and lows. I've seen good town government lead us to prosperity, and less effective town government set us back significantly. It's important that we elect officials who are experienced, open-minded, and forward-thinking. We need officials whose only "special interest" is the well-being of the entire town. Officials who make their decisions based on common sense and the good of the residents. Thankfully, we have that in Supervisor Kippy Weigelt, Councilmen Brian Keeler and Stephen "Hookie" Hook, Town Clerk Mary Jeanne Hoose, and Highway Superintendent Louie Lamont.
The past four years we've seen this team draw on their experience and abilities to bring meaningful and productive change to Claverack, most notably their accomplishments driving down the cost of town operations, balancing budgets without draining our savings, passing conservative budgets that are tax-cap compliant (resulting in tax rebate checks for property owners), and developing long term purchasing plans that save money by exploiting historically low interest rates.
Claverack is in good hands and is, indeed, working. Lets keep the forward progress moving!
My wife Shanda, a lifelong resident of Claverack and a proud member of the Card family, and I urge all Claverack residents to vote to re-elect Town Supervisor Kippy Weigelt, Councilmen Brian Keeler and Stephen "Hookie" Hook, Town Clerk Mary Jeanne Hoose, and Highway Superintendent Louie Lamont.
